Kids Academy - Basics - Learning to Cook from Scratch

Kids Academy (Ages 10-15) - Learn to Cook. Gain Independence. Experience Enjoyment.

In this 5-part Kids Academy for children and teenagers aged 10 to 15, participants learn

the fundamentals of cooking from scratch over five Wednesday afternoons.

Step by step, they discover essential basic techniques and how to safely handle fresh ingredients.

Each week focuses on a new theme: after a short, child-friendly theory session,

it’s time to chop, stir, and cook – and of course enjoy the meal together at the end.

Independence, teamwork, creativity, and above all the joy of cooking are at the heart of the course.

The Menüs & Themes:

15-Apr 2026: Knife Skills

Vegetable Bowl with Rice

The children learn different cutting techniques and practice safe knife

handling – from dicing and slicing to cutting fine strips.

22-Apr 2026: Cooking Methods

Pasta pan with bell peppers and feta

Today is all about cooking techniques: boiling, steaming, sautéing – participants

discover how different methods influence flavor and texture.

29-Apr 2026: Dough Preparation

Pizza

From kneading to rolling out: the children make their own pizza dough and learn

what matters when working with dough.

06-May 2026: Soups & Salads

Potato soup with croutons and colorful salad

Together, we prepare a creamy soup and a fresh, vibrant salad while exploring balanced

combinations and suitable toppings.

13-May 2026: Creative Kitchen

The children decide together what to cook.

For the final session, participants plan their own menu: brainstorming ideas, voting, planning the

shopping list, and cooking everything together – creativity and teamwork are especially important here.


Homemade iced tea and mineral water.

Participants actively take part in cooking, gradually assume responsibility for

individual preparation steps, and learn how to organize kitchen processes independently.

At the end of each session, they enjoy the freshly prepared dishes together.

About the Instructor
Miriam is a trained hospitality professional and certified nutrition and physical activity educator

for children. Her passion lies in healthy, practical nutrition and the joy of cooking together.

With calmness, experience, and enthusiasm, she encourages children to develop a positive

and confident relationship with food and the kitchen.

The course is held in German.
